2012 Guild Challenge

Let's play "20 Questions"
This Challenge is an opportunity to do and in-depth study of a subject and recreate it in fiber! Find or take a photo of something from
nature
—either animal, vegetable or mineral—and create a three dimensional representation of it. Final pieces will be viewed from all sides, so from front to back and head to toe, get "up close and personal" with your subject.

Entries must meet these Challenge Requirements:
  • be made with a fiber technique and use at least one material from each of the three categories: animal, vegetable and mineral.
  • be 3-dimensional and free standing, sitting on a base, or hanging. If hung, the hanging apparaturs must be submitted with the piece.
  • be a minimum of 6 inches and fit into the official Challenge Box (boxes are provided to active members when they sign up to participate in the Challenge.
  • be submitted in the official Challenge Box, accompanied by a completed entry form and a photo or print of the original subject.
The "Animal, Vegetable or Mineral" Challenge entries are due at the October 6 guild meeting. The Challenge exhibit will be on display at the Saturday, November 3, guild meeting. Entry forms can be obtained at guild meetings. Challenge participants must be active guild members for the 2012 membership year.
