2013 Guild Challenge

Recycle, Reuse, Repurpose

The 2013 Riverbend Fiber Arts Guild Challenge is about recycling. There will be two categories in which guild members can enter a piece:

Category 1: Wearable and accessories
Category 2: Household item

The Challenge requirements for entries are:
  • Photograph the recycled materials you plan to use to create a new and different item.
  • 80% of the materials used in your Challenge entry must be recycled. For example, new cotton yarn for a warp and recycled material for the weft; or new thread used to sew recycled materials into a garment.
  • Submit your entry with a completed entry form (obtainable at guild meetings to active guild members) and the photos of the original materials used in the piece.
Prizes will be given in each category. Finishing and workmanship is always considered in determining winners.

The Challenge entries will be displayed at the November 2013 guild meeting. Renew and make new!
